Students will prove their knowledge of Piecewise and Absolute Value Functions.

• We did a little review
• Then we took the Piecewise / Absolute Value Test

### English 12:

Students will prove their knowledge of the themes of Night. Students will use their real-world talents in order to create a unique project regarding the Holocaust / Night

• Everyone handed in their Night Essays
• Then we worked on the Holocaust Projects (due in one week)

### Algebra 2:

Students will prove their knowledge of piecewise functions and absolute value functions.  This is also an opportunity to get clarification over any part of the unit that they might not fully understand

• We reviewed for the test tomorrow
• Don’t forget: on test day EVERYTHING is due!

### English 12:

Students will use their real-world talents in order to create a unique project regarding the Holocaust / Night

• I talked about the importance of time management
• I invited everyone to share their essays with me if they’d like some advice before Friday
• We worked on the Night Essay (due tomorrow) and the Holocaust Project (due 10/7)

In order to graph absolute value inequalities on an x/y plane (and then using this graph to solve), students will combine what they know about solving absolute value inequalities algebraically with graphing absolute value equations

### English 12:

Students will use their real-world talents in order to create a unique project regarding the Holocaust / Night

• I talked about how much this project affects grades
• I invited everyone to share their essays with me if they’d like some advice before Friday
• We worked on the Night Essay (due Friday) and the Holocaust Project(due 10/7)

Students will connect knowledge of intersections of graphs (used in the Systems unit) and knowledge of solving equations in order to solve Absolute Value Equations in a number of ways.

### English 12:

Students will use their real-world talents in order to create a unique project regarding the Holocaust / Night

• I clarified the expectations and timeline for the Holocaust Project and Night Essay
• We worked on both assignments during the hour
• Everyone handed in Proposal sheet and drawing for their Holocaust Projects

Students will combine their knowledge of slope-intercept form and one-to-one functions to understand a similar concept in piecewise functions

### English 12:

Students discuss their experiences at the Holocaust Museum and connect that both to their project assignment and to their Night essay.

• We talked about the museum trip
• We talked about possibilities for our museum
• We started the Night Essay by going here
• Night test tomorrow

### English 12:

• 85% of us went to the Holocaust Memorial; if you didn’t, you had a few assignments
• You had to read this transcript from the “Remarks at Millennium” meeting at the White House and summarize EACH PAGE
